Abstract

Dharma Bums is one of the best works of Jack Kerouac, who is an important figure in beat generation. It is a legendary historical account of the beats’ adventurous life in their exploration of truth and liberty. This book is an embodiment of the culture of the beat movement and American Buddhism. Studying it from different perspective can help us to achieve a better understanding of The Beat Generation, and its significant meaning to American literature.
