An Analysis on Sexism in English language

摘要

语言是人类社会文明发展的产物，它反映了人类社会的发展过程，也反映出了不同社会阶层，不同社会意识和价值观等情况。社会的不平等现象，尤其是以男性占主导的对女性的歧视现象，也必然会在语言中得到体现。本文通过揭露并分析英语中的性别歧视现象，有针对性的提出一些措施，希望能为消除英语中的性别歧视现象起到一定的帮助作用。

Abstract

Language is a product of development of civilization of human being. It reflects the process of the development of human society, and also reflects the different social classes, different social consciousness, value concept and so on. Social inequality, especially the sexism from men to women will be reflected in the language. This paper puts forward some measures for sexism in English through exposing and analyzing this phenomenon. In this way, the author hopes to make efforts to eliminate sexism phenomenon in English.
