功能对等理论在字幕翻译中的应用_英语论文
Application of Functional Equivalence in Film Subtitle Translation of The Big Bang Theory
摘要
随着各国之间文化交流的不断加深,影像制品的需求不断增加,所以字幕翻译的质量显得尤为重要,如何让国人在观影时既能理解故事情节又能领略到其中的精髓,是字幕翻译人员亟需解决的问题,由于英语在语法、结构、句法等方面与汉语有很大的不同,同时也是所学理论和实践相结合的一项新挑战。本文选择了美国情景喜剧《生活大爆炸》作为具体研究对象,通过奈达的功能对等理论,找到合适的字幕翻译策略以及如何在实际中运用达到最好的翻译效果。

Abstract
Along with the deepening cultural communication among various countries, the requirement of audiovisual products is increasing continuously. Therefore, it is significant to put more emphasis on the quality of subtitle translation. How to let target audience not merely understand the plot but also feel the spirit when viewing is an urgent issue to tackle for translators. Meanwhile, since there are many differences between English and Chinese, such as grammar, sentence structure, syntax and so on, it is a new challenge to combine theory with practice. This paper sets an American sitcom, The Big Bang Theory as example. According to Nida’s functional equivalence theory, then the author finds out a suitable translation strategy and then how to adopt it to attain the best effect.
