Table Manners in Different Countries and Cultures

摘要

随着经济的发展，全球化的推进，文化的融合，礼仪文化成为了世界上不可忽视的一部分。而餐桌礼仪是当今一个最重要的礼仪之一，也成为了世界交际文化中不可或缺的。它不仅体现了一个人的个人素质，更代表了一个国家的礼仪。本文以中西国家为例，主要研讨中西方国家餐桌礼仪几方面的不同及形成这些差异的原因，如：到达时间，餐桌氛围等。笔者通过中西方餐桌礼仪的对比，从而阐明一个道理，即在跨文化交际中，在坚持本民族文化前提下，应宽容、尊重对待异国文化，从而提高国际交流能力。

Abstract

With the development of the economy, the advance of the globalization and the amalgamation of the culture, manners have become a non-ignorable part in the world. Table manners is one of the most important manners in the world. It has also become an essential part in the cultural communication of the world. It not only expresses the personal quality, but also the manner of the country. In this thesis, the author takes China and the West for example, discussing the differences of some aspects in table manners, such as the arrival time, table atmosphere. By comparing the table manners between China and the western countries, the author states that people should insist own cultures and treat other countries’ cultures with generosity and respect. This can improve the ability of international exchange.
