《了不起的盖茨比》是美国文豪菲茨杰拉德最伟大的小说之一，该书讲述了上个世纪二三十年代美国社会享乐主义和实用主义盛行的局面。该书之所以至今依旧如此受欢迎，是因为作者使用了大量的写作手法，而颜色象征又是其最具特色的写作手法，暗含着大量的象征意义。通过在图书馆及网络上阅读相关资料，并结合故事细节进行分析后，本文拟从色彩运用的角度出发，探讨绿色，白色等颜色在文中的具体象征意义，从而更好地剖析小说中的人物形象和主题意义。
