女性主义翻译观下《女勇士》汉译研究_英语论文

On E-C Translation of The Woman Warrior from the Perspective of Feminist Translation

摘要

女性主义翻译理论是20世纪80年代兴起的翻译研究中的一支重要力量,它将性别纳入翻译研究中,以新的视角审视了翻译中的“忠实”概念,鼓励女性主义译者在翻译时发挥主体性作用。要求女性主义翻译者在译文中彰显女性的特点，以争取女性的权利，尤其是话语权。

美国华裔女作家汤亭亭的《女勇士》是部典型的女性主义作品。本课题从女性主义翻译观对李剑波和陆承译的《女勇士》的汉译进行探究，研究女性主义翻译理论在《女勇士》的汉译本中的运用。探究女性主义翻译的忠实性原则，同时分析译本中所采用的女性主义翻译策略：旁注，夸张和劫持，研究表明女性主义翻译的忠实性原则和这三种策略适用于对女性主义文学作品的翻译，并且它们的使用有助于强化译文的女性主义意识，为提高女性主义地位。值得注意的是译者在使用这些策略来凸显女性意识时需谨慎，以免造成信息的错误传达。希望本课题对女性主义翻译领域的探究提供借鉴意义。

Abstract

Feminist Translation Theory has become a major force in translation studies in the 1980s. It incorporates considerations of gender in translation studies, reconceptualizes the traditional concept of “fidelity”, and encourages feminist translators to play a subjective role in translation. In consideration of this theory, the translator must take into account of the characteristics of women, in the interest of women’s rights and feminist discourse.

Chinese American writer Maxine Hong Kingston’s The Woman Warrior is a typical feminist literary work. This thesis studies Li Jianbo and Lu Chengyi’s Chinese translation of the novel from a feminist translation perspective, focusing on the application of the Feminist Translation Theory in the E-C translation. This thesis studies the principle of fidelity in Feminist Translation Theory and three strategies of feminist translation outlined include marginal notes, overstatement, and highjacking. These strategies are not only appropriate in translating feminist literature, but also help enhance feminist awareness in the target text. When applying these strategies to emphasize feminist awareness, caution must be used to avoid mistranslation. Hopefully the results of this thesis can contribute to feminist translation studies as a field.
