Comparative Study on Different Chinese Subtitle Versions of The Big Bang Theory

摘要

美国情景喜剧“生活大爆炸”讲述了四个天才科学家和一个餐厅美女服务员之间幽默搞笑的生活趣事。该剧把观众们不太熟悉的科学理论和日常生活巧妙地结合在一起，语言极具特色，幽默的剧情和灵动的字幕翻译深受中国观众的喜爱。该剧在国内影视圈出现了不同版本的字幕翻译，本文以人人影视字幕组和圣城家园字幕组的不同译本为研究对象，通过比较分析两个不同译本在翻译策略，语言风格，及文化意象处理等方面的异同，揭示影视剧字幕翻译的有效翻译原则和翻译策略。

Abstract

The Big Bang Theory is an American situation comedy, which mainly tells the humorous and funny anecdotes of life between four talented scientists and a beautiful restaurant waitress. It combines the scientific theory, which is not familiar to us, with the daily life tactfully, and enjoys the great popularity among Chinese audience due to its unique language, its humorous plots, and the smart translation of subtitle. There are different Chinese subtitle versions for it. Taking two of them translated by YYeTs and ShengCheng Group as the objects, this thesis makes a contrastive study from three perspectives, such as translation strategies, language style and cultural image, to reveal the proper translation principles and effective translation strategies for subtitle translation.
