摘要

《喜福会》从母亲和女儿两个体系入手，描述了西方文化下充满矛盾的母女关系。母亲带着浓重中国色彩的母爱令女儿们无法理解，努力地排斥反抗。但是，也正是母亲绵绵不息的母爱，在中西方文化冲突中架起了她们与女儿之间相互理解的桥梁，使原本矛盾重重，沉闷压抑的母女关系最终实现了爱的融合。

本论文从四位母亲的成长背景以及他们受到的封建传统教育，传统的中国式母爱以及女儿们的反抗，中国式母爱在西方文化背景下最终实现的融合这些角度进行分析与讨论。
