从文化视角分析英汉问候语的差异_英语论文

On the Differences between English and Chinese Greetings from the Cultural Perspective

摘要

问候语是日常交流用语中不可缺少的一部分。作为礼貌用语的重要分支，许多国内外的学者从语言学、社会学和人类学的角度研究过问候语。语言与文化关系密切。 语言影响文化，同时也被文化影响。由于文化的不同，中英问候语有各自的特点。从文化视角分析英汉问候语的差异能够帮助人们在跨文化交际中获得更成功、更有效的交际，避免因为问候语的误用产生误解而导致交际失误。通过一系列的学习与观察，文化要素的三个方面被用于分析英汉问候语的差异。这三个要素分别是自我定位、主导思想和语言模式。

Abstract

Greetings are indispensable components of everyday communication. As a significant aspect of courtesy language, many scholars home and abroad have studied greetings from the linguistic, sociological and anthropological perspective. There is a close relationship between language and culture. Language influences and is influenced by culture. Due to the different cultures, English and Chinese greetings have their own characteristics. Therefore, it is of great importance to make a study on the differences between English and Chinese greetings from the cultural perspective for the purpose of helping people to achieve more successful and effective intercultural communication. Through a series of studies and careful observation, three cultural factors, views on self-worth, dominant orientations and patterns, are selected for the analysis of the differences between English and Chinese greetings.
