功能对等理论视角下南京景区名称的英译_英语论文
On C-E Translation of the Names of Tourist Attractions in Nanjing from the Perspective of Functional Equivalence
摘要
随着全球化的发展,跨文化交际也已成为当今世界的主要特征。中国以其独特的魅力、神秘的面纱和悠久的历史吸引着越来越多的外国人。中国旅游业的快速发展要求更加精准的景区名称的翻译,因为它不仅仅给外国游客留下了第一印象,也与景区形象息息相关并影响着跨文化交际的顺利进行。
南京作为中国古代都城之一,有着众多的名胜古迹和文化遗产,也长期成为中国南方政治经济和文化的中心。本文将从功能对等理论的视角研究南京景区名称的英译并对其翻译现状做一个自我反思,以期对其他景区名称的翻译带来一定的帮助。

Abstract
With the development of globalization, cross-cultural communication has become the essential feature of today’s world. China, with its glamour, mystery and long history attracts an increasing number of foreigners. The popularity of tourism in China requires more accurate translations of tourist attractions because they will catch foreigners’ attention for the first sight and also directly relate to the image of tourist attractions and cross-cultural communication.
While Nanjing, one of the ancient capitals of China, boasts numerous places of interest and cultural heritage and has long been the political, cultural and economic center of south China. This paper will analyze the translation of tourist attractions in Nanjing from the perspective of functional equivalence and make reflections on the status quo of the current translations, hoping it could be of certain help to the translation of the names of tourist attractions.
