摘要
托尼莫里森的《宠儿》,是一部具有代表性的描写黑人女性的作品。它于1987年出版,一经问世就吸引了多数学者的注意并在美国文学掀起了巨浪。
《宠儿》讲述了黑人女性塞丝的故事。这是一个充满了悲伤与绝望的母爱故事。为了保护她的孩子远离奴隶生活,塞丝残忍的杀害了自己的女儿宠儿,十八年后,宠儿重回人间来到塞丝身边,搅乱了塞丝的生活。
本文共分为六章。第一章简介托妮莫里森的生平以及宠儿的写作背景。第二章讲述黑人女性主义的形成与发展以及托尼莫里森小说中的黑人女性主义。第三章为文献回顾。第四章讲述了贝比·萨格斯,塞丝和塞丝母亲的经历以及她们复杂性与多样性的母爱。第五章探究造成母爱多重性与复杂性的原因。最后,总结本论文的观点。

Abstract
Beloved, by Toni Morrison, is one of the representative works of Black Feminism. It was published in 1987, which attracts lots of scholars’ attention and raises great influence in American literature.
The whole story is concerned about a black slave mother: Sethe who has a miserable and desperate motherhood. In order to protect her children from being slaves, living without dignity and freedom, she kills them. Eighteen years passing by, the daughter who was killed 18 years ago comes back and lives in Sethe’s home, which stirs up great influence.
This paper is divided into five parts. The first part briefly introduces Toni Morrison’s life and background of Beloved. The second part is the theory of Black Feminism. The third part is literature review. The fourth part focuses on analyzing the complexity and multiplicity of motherhood of Sethe, Baby Suggs and Sethe’s mother. The fifth part analyzes the causes of motherhood’s multiplicity and complexity. Finally, it is the conclusion of this paper.
