摘要

美国“爵士时代”重要作家菲茨杰拉德的处女作《人间天堂》，以小说主人公艾莫里的“幻想——追求——破灭”这一历程为主线，将小说主人公狂热追求美国梦的幻想幻灭这一主题淋漓尽致的表现了出来。本文结合亚里士多德的悲剧理论，以人物，情节和当时人们扭曲的价值观入手，从个人和社会的角度展现小说的悲剧性。
