基于语料库的英语经济新闻中Fairly及其同义词的语义韵对比研究_英语论文
A Corpus-based Contrastive Study on the Semantic Prosody of ‘Fairly’ and its Synonyms in English Economic News
摘要
无论在日常的语言交流还是在正式的书面交流中,程度副词都起着十分重要的作用,它可以用来强调语气和着重点,从而更加清楚的体现说话者的意图和态度,并加深听者或读者的印象。语义韵是语料库语言学中的研究重点,它提供了一种更加有效的同义词辨析方法。本文选取Fairly及其同义词作为分析对象,通过检索自建语料库,采用定量和定性分析相结合的研究方法,以其共有的含义“to some degree”为考察语义,从而揭示它们的语义韵。结果表明,基于语料库的方法在同义词分析中具有独特的优势,是传统参考方法的有效补充。

Abstract
Whether it is in the daily language communication or in formal written communication, the adverbs of degree play a very important role. They can be used to emphasize the tone and focus, in order to reflect the speaker's intentions and attitudes more clearly and deepen the impression of the listener or the reader. Semantic prosody is the focus of research in corpus linguistics, and it provides a more effective method for synonym discrimination. In this paper, ‘Fairly’ and its synonyms are chosen as the objects of analysis, through the self-built corpus, using quantitative and qualitative analysis of the combination of research methods, and their common meaning "to some degree" is studies in a bid to reveal their semantic prosody. The results show that the corpus-based approach has a unique advantage in the analysis of synonymy, and it is an effective complement to the traditional method of synonyms of reference.
