摘要

人们生活的世界颜色丰富多彩，人们生活的世的各个角落也都渗透着各种颜色，颜色本身是一种抽象的概念但是却是具体颜色词的描述。

在使用汉语和英语两种这两种不同语言的国家中，颜色词语在人们生活的方方面面所表现出的独特作用，确实令人不容小觑。在语言这两种不同的语言中，我们可以使用各种不同颜色或色彩的词来表达我们的情感。一方面，我们不但要注意观察它们自身的基本含义，另一方面，同时也要了解和理解它们内部所包含的深广的象征意义。

各国文化博大精深，有着深厚的文化底蕴，颜色词在各语言中的使用为其词汇意义的丰富增添了色彩。而且各种颜色词意义还不同，不同的颜色词可以代表不同的情感，颜色词是使用颜色语言来对话或传递信息的一种符号。颜色有渲染视觉美感的能力，各种常用颜色词象征意义也不尽相同。

颜色词是每个民族文化都不可缺少的一部分，颜色词有丰富的含义，由于受到不同文化背景的影响，不同民族语言中的颜色词有不同的内涵及意义。不同的民族人民对颜色词的意义认知是不同的。不同语言中的颜色词作为一种文化负载词语反映了不同的文化、不同的社会风俗、不同的宗教和不同的价值观。这些不同对于国家间交流有着重要的影响。因此，在不同国家人们进行的文化交流过程中了解颜色词与之文化内涵之间的关系，弄清颜色词的共性和差异就显得十分重要。本文通过对汉英基本颜色词的象征意义进行对比研究，从而了解中英文化中颜色词的相似和差异，由此促进各国人民之间的成功交流。

Abstract

Human beings live in a colorful world where colors permeate almost all corners of our lives. The color itself is an concept which is abstract each color is described by specially appointed color terms. Color words are very expressive rich and symbolic and some typical colors, namely basic color words in diverse language usually usually diverse cultural connections. As time goes by, symbolic meanings of color words will also have a new meaning. As an important part of culturally-loaded words in the family, the basic color words reflect social customs, religions and values. This thesis will make a comparative study on some common English color words in two languages. Expounding the reasons for the differences between Chinese and English from the cultural background and some other aspects. The typical of the kinds of the color terms are the basic color terms. The reason is that these basic color words in diverse language do not express the same cultural implication. Consequently, knowing and understanding the relationship between color words and cultural connotations hopefully may give us help to clarify the universality and difference of cultural meanings of color words, thus we can achieve communication between the two language-speaking peoples.

This thesis will have a comparative study of some basic color words in both Chinese and English languages, and explain the differences between these basic Chinese and English color words from a cultural perspective.
