国内体育专业学术期刊论文英语摘要的时态偏误研究_英语论文

Tense Errors in English Abstracts of Domestic Sports Journal Papers 

摘要

在体育全球化的今天，体育专业的学术交流也日益密切，因此我们也对学术论文的外语水平有了更高的要求。摘要中提炼了论文的精华，是整篇论文的门户，因此英文摘要的质量也对于学术论文起着至关重要的作用。

在现有的对英文摘要的研究中，体育专业相对其他专业来说较为不充分。已有的研究表明，体育专业学术期刊英文摘要语言运用中存在大量问题。研究人员已经对人称，词汇，语法，语态中存在的问题进行了大量的研究，对于时态的专项研究较为空缺。

本文的材料选取于CNKI资料库， 将两本属于CSSCI的体育专业期刊，《上海体育大学学报》与《中国体育科技》2016年发表文章中，随机选取其中100篇的英文摘要作为样本，对英文摘要中体现的时态特征与存在的时态偏误进行分析与统计，与其他相关研究结论对比，分析偏误存在成因，对国内体育专业期刊论文英文摘要进行评价，提出建议。

研究发现，在国内体育专业期刊论文英文摘要中，使用最多的时态是一般现在时与一般过去时。其中，在背景，内容，与结论部分多用一般现在时，介绍方法和成果时多用一般过去时。时态偏误主要为时态错用与时态不一致，出现在将一般现在时错用于介绍研究方法和成果的句子中。研究指出，时态的选择应遵循相关规则，并与上下文保持一致性。为根本的减少时态偏误的出现，提高学术论文英文摘要质量，研究人员应主动提高自身英语综合水平。

Abstract

Today, with the sports globalization, academic communications in sports are held more and more frequently. As the summary of the academic paper, abstract is an important shortcut to understand the academic achievements. In short, the quality of English abstract plays a significant role in evaluating an academic paper.

A great amount of researches have been finished in various fields, in order to quantify and solve the problems existing in the English abstract. Compared with other fields, few studies are carried out in the field of sports. The existing research results show that there is a lot of problems existing in the English abstracts of sports academic papers. In general, the quality of English abstract needs to be improved. Most studies focus on personal pronouns, voice, grammar and the use of specific words, and seldom concentrate on tenses.

This study is based on English abstracts of papers from two sports academic journals belonging to CSSCI from CNKI's Documents, Journal of Shanghai University of Sport, and China Sport Science and Technology. One hundred academic papers published in 2016 are randomly selected. Conclusions are drawn through a statistical analysis and interpretation of tense characteristics and tense errors in English abstracts, a comparison to other relevant study, and analysis of possible causes.

This study shows that most sentences are in simple present tense and simple past tense. Simple present tense is the first choice to write the background, contents and conclusions of the study, while the simple past tense is mainly used in method and result part. Most tense errors can be attributed to inconformity and inconsistency of tense, mainly including mistaken simple present tense in the sections of methods and results. This study suggests the choice of tense to follow the rules and to be in accordance with the context. In order to radically upgrade the quality of English abstract, researchers need to actively improve their English skills.
