摘要

名词化是书面语的一大重要特色，在商务英语信函的语言中必不可少。商务英语信函是一种用于国际商务活动交流的书面语所以文体需要体现正式性、客观性、和简洁性。名词化是商务英语函电显示其独特文体特征的重要方式，它对商务英语函电意义特殊。本文专注于商务英语信函中的名词化，分析名词化的分类、语言功能及其翻译并从中收获了一些知识。

本文在Halliday(1985)系统功能语法中的语法隐喻理论的基础上对名词化进行探索，对出现在教科书《实用商务英语函电》（蒋欣：2014）和《实用商务英语函电》（黄霜林：2013）中的一些名词化例子进行分析。首先，从词汇和从句两方面研究名词化在商务英语信函中的分类。其次从商务英语信函的语篇出发探索名词化在其中的简洁、正式和连贯的作用。最后本文讨论了对名词化在商务英语信函的翻译需要注意简洁性、正式性、礼貌性。
