摘要

《英国病人》是加拿大著名作家迈克尔·翁达杰的代表作，一九九二年获得英国布克奖和加拿大总督文学奖。后被英国导演安东尼·明格拉于一九九六年改编成同名电影，获得九项奥斯卡金奖，大获成功。迈克尔·翁达杰的小说《英国病人》昭示了二战前后国家和个人的多元选择和多重身份导致的交叉冲突：野蛮与文明、非洲与欧洲、男性与女性、宗主国与殖民地，希望达到不同国家民族之间的和解与共存。

本文从叙事结构入手，结合影片情节，具体分析平行叙事结构对于表达导演的艺术创作意图和人物塑造的作用，目的在于分析平行叙事结构对影片主题呈现所起的作用，对于更好地解读西方文化有一定的启示作用。
