从功能对等角度分析《死亡诗社》的字幕翻译_英语论文
On the Subtitle Translation of Dead Poets Society From Functional Equivalence
摘要
本文以奈达的功能对等理论为指导,从语言、文化和美学三个层面分析了电影《死亡诗社》的字幕翻译。在语言层面,译者需努力创造出符合原文语义的译作,可使用减译、增译和重创等策略进行翻译。在文化层面,字幕翻译作为跨文化交际的媒介,既需体现源语文化特色,又需使目的语观众更好地了解其含义,字幕翻译可灵活使用汉语四字词和特定文化词等方法进行翻译。在美学层面,为了更好地传达电影风格使观众获得美好的观影感受,字幕翻译可在保持意义对等的情况下使用优美的文字最大程度地再现电影的美感。

Abstract
Based on functional equivalence theory, the thesis analyzes the subtitle translation by examples from linguistic level, cultural level and aesthetic level. On linguistic level, translators should produce translated works which accords with the original meaning with the application of omission, addition and recreation. On cultural level, subtitle translation, as a medium of cross-cultural communication, is supposed to present cultural features of source language and let the target audiences better understand the meaning. Chinese four-character words and Chinese cultural specific words can be used to translate. On aesthetic level, in order to convey film style properly and impress the audiences, translators can use graceful words to represent the beauty of films maximally in the case of semantic equivalence.
