摘要

艾丽丝•沃克的《紫色》兼有黑人文学和妇女文学的双重特性。埃尔伯特是当时男权和父权社会的直接受害者，也是当时社会黑人男性的典范。他的性格是男权主义和父权思想严格控制下的产物，他的婚姻是传统男尊女卑思想束缚造就的产物，他本人是这种文化背景下首当其冲的受害者。社会文化和家庭文化造就了他同时也毁了他的婚姻生活，所以故事的结局，妻子离开了他，他虽然意识到自己的错误也及时的反思和弥补，却也不肯走到妻子面前去和解，孤独而又倔强。

Abstract

Alice Walker’s The Color Purple combined the dual characteristics of black literature and women’s literature. Albert was a direct victim of male chauvinism and patriarchal society at that time, and he was a model of social black men at the time. His character was the product of male chauvinism and patriarchalism under the strict control of patriarchal thought. His marriage was the product of the traditional male superiority and female inferiority, and he was the victim of that cultural background. Social culture and family culture created him and also destroyed his marriage life. At the end of the story, his wife left him. Although he realized his mistakes and reflected and remedied it timely, he refused to reconcile with his wife because of loneness and stubbornness.
