《三体》中译英翻译策略的研究_英语论文
A Study on The Translation Strategy of San Ti

San Ti by the famous Chinese science fiction writer Liu Cixin, won the 73rd Hugo award in 2015, which is the most influential science-fiction award in the world. It is the first time for a Chinese writer to win such a prize, and thus has laid a good foundation for Chinese science fiction to reach the world. Undoubtedly the success of San Ti owes much to its writer Liu Cixin, but its translator Ken Liu also plays an important role given the fact the book has got world-wide attention and appraise. As a Chinese American, Ken Liu has a deeper understanding of both Chinese and English and their cultural background. And as an outstanding sci-fi writer himself, Ken Liu has once won both Nebula and Hugo award, becoming the first Chinese winner of the two most influential sci-fi awards in the world. His translation of San Ti is worth reading and studying. Based on a comparative study of the Chinese and English version of San Ti, and guided by the skopos theory, this thesis analyzes some translation strategies and methods such as transcreation, omission and annotation that are used in the translation by citing some examples from the two versions in the hope that the study might be of help in the future study and translation work.
