摘要

《另一个世界》是美国当代作家玛丽·盖茨基尔的杰作，该作品在暴力犯罪的影响因素方面多有着墨。这部小说的主人公童年时期饱受暴力犯罪的心理倾向折磨，不仅如此，主人公儿子在成长过程中的心理变化与主人公童年经历如出一辙。当主人公意识到儿子遗传了自己多年的梦魔和“另一个世界”，便开始关注他的心理发展，并试图通过营造温馨的家庭氛围、给予孩子更多的父爱和陪伴等途径唤醒儿子内心的真善美，抑制他在“另一个世界”犯罪心理的发展。本文基于文本细读，剖析其中关于暴力犯罪的描写，主要关注暴力犯罪心理形成的原因以及抑制暴力犯罪的影响因素。

Abstract

The Other Place is a masterpiece of contemporary American writer Mary Gaitskill, which describes a lot of factors in the impact of violent crime. The protagonist of this novel is tortured by the psychological tendency of violent crime. What’s more, the protagonist's son's psychological development is surprisingly similar with his childhood situation. When the protagonist realized that he passed "the other place" and the nightmare to his son, he began to pay attention to his son’s psychological development, trying to awake his son's good and beautiful nature to suppress his being in "the other place" and suppress the development of his criminal psychology. Based on the close reading, this paper analyzes the description of violent crime, mainly concerns about the causes of violent criminal psychology and the factors that inhibit the violent crime.
