摘要

艺术特色作为一种在文学创作中广泛使用的具体表现手法，受到了中外许多杰出作家的青睐。司汤达在《红与黑》中使用的艺术特色历来为研究者所青睐，研究外国语言文学，必须要了解司汤达在《红与黑》中高超的艺术特色。本文首先探讨艺术特色的定义和分类，并简单地介绍艺术特色可以从表达方式、结构形式、修辞手法、写作技巧和艺术风格来划分，然后对《红与黑》和其作者司汤达进行简要介绍，在介绍《红与黑》这部作品的同时提及司汤达当时所处的文学时代，以及司汤达作为法国现实主义作家对文学所做出的巨大贡献。论文选取了部分《红与黑》中的原文，对其中所涉及到的艺术特色进行粗略的分析，以此来反映司汤达在《红与黑》这部作品中对艺术特色的广泛、高超、不漏痕迹的运用，在选取和分析的同时，主要聚焦于司汤达对暗喻和象征这两种主要手法，进一步探索司汤达在《红与黑》中对主人公于连的性格特征的刻画，进而得出艺术特色在塑造于连人物形象、反映《红与黑》情节真实性和突出作品主旨方面所起的巨大作用，并从于连身上看到身处特定时代下具有野心和梦想的法国青年们，身上所具有的不折不挠并且勇于打破那个时代枷锁的闪光点。

Abstract

Artistic characteristic is a popular method applied in literary creation and is favored by famous writers at home and abroad. The artistic characteristics in The Red and the Black written by Stendhal have always been the focus of Stendhal’s study. To study the foreign languages and literatures, it is necessary to understand the artistic characteristics in The Red and the Black . Firstly, the paper introduces the definition and the classification of artistic characteristics. We may classify artistic characteristics by means of expression, structural style, rhetorical device, writing skill and artistic style. Also, Stendhal and his work The Red and the Black are briefly introduced. Apart from introducing the time Stendhal was born and lived, Stendhal’s great contributions for the French literature and even world literature are also mentioned. Some examples are chosen to analyze briefly to reflect the excellent applications of artistic characteristics, which is common and inconspicuous in the novel. And the main focus is on metaphor and symbol. By adopting these two figures of speech, Stendhal is meant to depict the main character Julien’s personalities. This paper introduces the artistic characteristics that greatly contribute to shape Julien’s character, reflect the authenticity of the plot and highlight the theme of the novel, and eventually capture the shining points existing in thousands of teenagers who had ambitions and dreams to break the chains of that era.
