习语语言是文化的载体，习语又是语言的精华，它带有浓厚的民族色彩和鲜明的文化内涵。中西方文化中习语有着既相同又不同的文化内涵，所以在文化差异视角下，研究如何在翻译中最大限度地传达习语意义及其蕴涵的言外之意，是一个值得探讨的课题。本文将以杨宪益译作中习语翻译为例,探讨文化差异视角下《红楼梦》中的习语英译。
