Film Title Translation in Recent Five Years in Chinese Mainland, Hongkong and Taiwan from the Perspective of Culture Difference

摘要

随着电影的发展和全球化推进，电影成为人们娱乐手段。随着电影产业的发展和全球化的推进，人们有更多机会去欣赏来自全球的精彩影片。但是，语言障碍无法让人们了解电影内涵，在这种情况下，为了能够让人们更好地理解电影的内涵，就需要进行翻译。人们想要了解一部电影，首先就要理解电影片名。电影片名是电影的核心，好的电影片名翻译可以让观众在更好地理解电影内容的同时得到美的享受。并且，一部好的电影片名翻译可以更好地实现电影的商业价值和审美价值。作为电影的重要成分的电影片名有着独特的语言特点和文化内涵，由于中国两岸三地的文化差异，同一部电影，电影片名翻译有时都截然不同，本文从文化差异角度对比分析文化差异对电影片名翻译的影响。

Abstract

Having developed for over a century, film has become one of the most popular ways of entertainment. People have much more chances to appreciate the elaborate and excellent films from all over the world. As an important part of a film, the title has its unique linguistic feature and culture connotation. If someone wants to understand the content of a film, he will try to know the title first. A good film title translation can make the audience feel good and it can realize the commercial value and the aesthetic value of the film. The same film is always variously translated because of the culture differences. To translate a title well is a significant and creative task. A fantastic translation of the title can be the icing on the cake. Based on the culture difference and characteristics of film title translation, this thesis aims to analyze the different translation of film titles in Chinese Mainland, Hongkong and Taiwan.
