摘要
黄哲伦是著名的美国剧作家,其代表作《蝴蝶君》改编自上个世纪八十年代一个震惊西方的真实故事,学者通常因其出人意料的结局,而将其与《蝴蝶夫人》进行对比。通过分析高仁尼东方主义幻想的破灭、文化身份的解构以及日渐式微的西方文化霸权,本文旨在从东方主义视角剖析其悲剧的成因,从而启示人们能摒弃所谓的文化优越性,抛开东西方之间的权力话语和二元对立观,理解和尊重东方主义,从而体现《蝴蝶君》对美国华裔文化的研究价值。
