摘要

本文以美剧《国务卿女士》为语料，试图从社会语言学的角度探讨其中所体现出的美语的性别差异。本文首先介绍了社会语言学的定义与功能、《国务卿女士》以及语言性别差异的国内外研究现状。其次，通过电视剧中的大量对话实例，本文从语调、词汇、句式三个方面具体分析了美国社会中男性与女性在语言上的性别差异。再次，本文分析了产生这些差异的因素，包括社会因素和文化因素。通过文献研究法、举例法与对比研究法，本文旨在帮助人们客观的认识并尊重美语中的性别差异，从而促进社交场合下两性会话的和谐，避免交际冲突。
