摘要

1967年，著名语言哲学家格莱斯提出合作原则。他认为，在人们交际过程中，对话双方似乎在有意无意地遵循着某一原则，以求有效地配合从而完成交际任务，他将这一原则称为合作原则。合作原则又包含四个准则，分别为质的准则、量的准则、关系准则和方式准则。遵守合作原则会产生一定的会话含意，而违反具体的合作准则也同样会产生会话含意。

《面纱》是英国作家威廉•萨默塞特•毛姆创作的一部长篇小说，有众多译本。本课题选取2012年阮景林译本和2016年于大卫译本作为参考，并以合作原则为基础，以四准则为出发点，对比分析两位译者在该小说人物对话翻译中所运用的翻译策略，诠释合作原则是如何指导译者理解《面纱》中人物的会话含义。通过本次研究得出结论：合作原则理论不仅能更好地帮助读者理解会话中的弦外之音,也为译者在清晰理解和更准确地传达人物语言的深层内涵以及作者的意图产生积极作用。
