摘要

散文，是一种与诗歌、小说和戏剧同等重要的文学体裁，其翻译亦是当代文学领域不可或缺的一个组成部分。散文翻译对译者的审美理解及其意境再造能力要求颇高。基于对原文的充分理解上，散文翻译的过程涉及到了语用充实现象，这一过程是非常值得探究的。语用充实的概念来自于词汇语用学，这个概念指是语境中的语意信息差填补从而加强表达的准确性过程。在翻译中，语用充实是以语境为基础，对各种信息断点或空缺进行补充，以达到交际成功。今年来，语用充实被用作一种翻译方法或研究翻译问题的视角，引起了越来越多的关注。大部分研究都集中在不同的语体翻译中，然而，散文翻译中的语用充实研究不多且不够深入。

本文以名家散文译本为研究对象，从语用充实现象视角对散文英译进行探讨。进而挖掘出散文英译过程中的语用充实运用规律及名家散文翻译的精妙之处。希望本文对语用充实研究和散文翻译实践有一定的参考价值。

Abstract

Prose is a literary genre which is as important as poetry, fiction and drama, and its translation is an integral part of contemporary literary translation. It requires the translators’ high proficiency in aesthetic comprehension and context reconstruction. That is to say, the translation of proses is first based on the understanding of the original text, and then involves a process of pragmatic enrichment, which is worth being explored. The concept of pragmatic enrichment emerges from lexical pragmatics. It involves a process of completion of the semantic representation encoded by utterances to promote a more accurate understanding of expression. In translation studies, pragmatic enrichment refers to a process in which translators enrich various information based on the context so as to achieve a better understanding for readers. Nowadays, this concept has been attracting more and more attention, as a method or a perspective for translation studies. A majority of these researches concentrate on the translation of different genres, such as legal text and news discourse. However, few studies have investigated pragmatic enrichment in prose translation.

This thesis aims at probing into prose translation from by analyzing the pragmatic enrichment in C-E prose translation based on some famous translation versions as illustrations. And then, this thesis explores the ways to apply pragmatic enrichment in C-E prose translation as well as the charm of famous translation versions. It is hoped that this thesis could provide some insights for the theoretical study of pragmatic enrichment and practice of prose translation.
