从《环球时报》社评看中国英语的构成形态_英语论文

An Analysis of the Formation of China English in the Editorials of Global Times

摘要

全球化语境下，英语受到不同文化的影响形成各种变体，引起学界的广泛关注。一些带有中国社会、文化、语言等特征的元素渗透到英语的句法、语篇等各个方面，形成了中国语境下特殊的英语变体，中国英语。本文以世界英语理论和语言变体理论为基础，选取2015年1月至6月《环球时报》社评为语料，分析中国英语的构成形态特征。研究发现《环球时报》英文版社论中有239条“中国英语”词汇和短语，这些“中国英语”真实、准确地承载了中国特色文化。用“中国英语”作为对外传播的语言媒介和文化标识，中国可以在与世界文化对话的过程中保持本国的民族文化特征。在中国英语样本的构成形态方面，“译借词”最多，其次是“意译词”，“音译＋类词”，“音译词”，“译借＋释义”，其中“译借词”、“音译词”、“音译＋类词”、“译借＋释义”保留了汉语形式结构，能负载一定的中国语言文化。

Abstract

Due to globalization, different English varieties have come into being as it has been influenced by different cultures. As such, English also absorbs and is influenced by Chinese society, culture, and language, which results in China English. Based on the theory of World Englishes and language variety, this dissertation selects editorials of Global Times from January to June in 2015 as corpus to analyze the formation of China English. It was found that there are 239 words and phrases of China English, which embody and deliver Chinese culture. China English can be used as language media and cultural identification in the intercultural communication as it can retain Chinese culture. As to the formation of samples, literal translated words occupy most. It is followed with free translated words, partial transliterated words, complete transliterated words, and literal translated words with interpreting. Among them, literal translated words, complete transliterated words, partial transliterated words and literal translated words with interpreting basically use Chinese structure, transmitting Chinese languages and cultures to some extent.
