An Ecofeminist Analysis in A Lost Lady

摘要

薇拉•凯瑟是美国在十九世纪末到二十世纪中多产而又重要的女作家之一。她运用深情而又优美的抒情风格在作品中刻画了十九世纪末期美国中西部拓荒者，描写了他们强烈的创业精神和坚强刚毅的品格，赞美了他们高尚的情操和美丽的心灵。

在凯瑟的作品《一个迷途的女人》中，女性的命运折射了当时社会的跌宕起伏，在她的作品中，女性和自然有着共同的命运。大自然遭受着人类中心主义的压迫，而女性遭受男权主义的压迫，生态女性主义则恰恰体现出女性和自然遭受着双重压迫，从而体现出自然和女性休戚与共的关系，传达出对男女平等的崇奉，对人际和谐的渴求以及对构建两性和谐、生态和谐的追求。

Abstract

Willa Cather is one of the most important and prolific female writers in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. She created her works in an affectionate and graceful style. From the end of the nineteenth century, she described the pioneer’s entrepreneurial spirit and tenacity of the Midwestern United States. And she praised their nobility and the good spirit. 

In Cather’s “A Lost Lady”, women are the representatives of the pioneering period. The fate of women reflects the ups and downs of society at that time. Women and nature have a common destiny. Nature suffers from the oppression of the anthropocentrism, and women are subjected to patriarchal oppression. Ecological feminism embodies the double oppression of women and nature, which reflects the relationship between nature and women, and conveys the worship of equality between men and women, the desire for interpersonal harmony and the construction of ecological harmony and the pursuit of harmony between man and nature.
