简·奥斯汀被公认为是英国文学中最杰出的女性之一。《理智与情感》作为她的第一部出版的长篇小说，在很多方面体现了她的创作思路与艺术特色。这本小说还表明了奥斯汀对爱情和婚姻的看法。在《理智与情感》中，主要人物的命运与他们各自的婚恋观紧密相观。本文试图去分析小说中的三种典型的婚恋观：完全基于理性的婚恋观，完全基于感性的婚恋观和理性与感性完美平衡的婚恋观。通过分析，奥斯汀向读者们展示了她对于爱情和婚姻的独到见解。简·奥斯汀认为，婚姻不仅涉及两性关系，而且也是社会关系的产物。理想的婚姻是建立在理性与感性相平衡上的。
