Interpreting Amir, Protagonist in The Kite Runner Under the Perspective of Freud's Structural Theory

Abstract
The Kite Runner is one of the famous works written by Khaled Hosseini. The book depicts the vivid characters and the whole story is very shocking. After the novel’s publication, it received great acclaim and ranked the top in U.S. The tripartite model theory about personality was proposed by Freud, in which Id makes up the physiological part of the personality, Ego makes up the psychological part of the personality, Superego makes up the social part of the personality. This paper uses Freud's tripartite model theory of personality to analyze the personal transformation of Amir who is the protagonist of The Kite Runner. Amir reminds everyone that one may hurt people around at a young age in the driven of ego desire, and the mistake will be buried deep in one’s heart, and the heart always have a sin and guilty. But as long as everyone face their past life with courage, he or she is going to end up like Amir who could be free from the shackles of cruel reality to make oneself strong and become a truly happy kite runner in their life.
