摘要 

《名学浅说》(Primer of Logic)一书系英国逻辑学家耶方斯(W.S.Jevons, 1835 -1882)所著的一本逻辑学入门之作。作为近代向西方学习的先进中国人代表，严复（1854-1921）认为逻辑学是“一切法之法，一切学之学”（王栻，1986）。因而，此本译作便在严复西学翻译实践中诞生。而在此译作中出现的大量术语译名，无论对于当时，抑或是今日之中国，都可谓是一字兼金。从现代翻译研究者的角度而言，胡庚申教授提出的翻译适应选择论，从“适应”与“选择”的视角对翻译的本质、过程、标准、原则和方法等作出新的描述和解释（胡庚申，2004），将作为本研究考察术语译名的依据。本研究将从严复的翻译思想与实践中吸取经验教训，以适应选择论作为依托对《名学浅说》中的术语译名进行考察，以期建立专业术语库、从宏观和微观两方面着手把握术语译名的特征，探寻术语翻译的适应选择机制。
