中式英语石化现象研究_英语论文

A study of fossilization of Chinglish

摘要

中式英语石化现象指的是中国英语学习者在学习英语的过程中,错误地把汉语中的语法规则或者习惯运用到英语学习上,使英语学习停滞不前,对学习者的英语语言学习产生不良的影响。从Selinker提出石化现象这一概念到现在,石化现象已经有四十多年的历史,但是随着石化现象受到越来越多的关注,许多语言学家对石化现象有自己不同的看法,关于石化现象的争论也是百花齐放、百家争鸣,语言学家们对石化现象的概念、成因以及表现形式等等概念各有高见。石化现象在语言学家们的思想交流碰撞中不断地完善、健全自己的知识体系。在我国英语教学中,学生们普遍在一些问题上重复犯错,使得英语学习停滞不前,最终形成中式英语石化现象。基于对当前大学生英文在英语学习中常出现的典型错误及英语学习能力停滞不前现象的观察和思考,笔者试图以此作为切入点来探讨中式英语石化现象。

本论文将以国内外研究者针对石化现象得出的结论为基础,以中式英语中出现的石化现象为突破口,对以下几个问题进行重点研究:第一:中式英语石化现象的原因;第二:针对具体的原因制定的消减策略;第三:经过预防策略的石化现象是否会出现倒退现象,并且提出相应的对策,减少中式英语石化现象的发生,希望可以对中国英语语言学习者有较大的帮助。本论文将从各个方向证明石化现象存在于中式英语之中,并且石化现象不能彻底地消除,具有顽固性,比较容易出现倒退。 

本论文分为以下几个部分:文献综述,中式英语和石化现象简介,中式英语石化现象概念以及其成因特征,成因预防及结果与结论。文献综述将对东西方语言学家在数十年间对石化现象的看法加以总结。接下来的章节将对中式英语石化现象做一个全面地介绍,力图从各个方面剖析石化现象,研究其的成因并提出预防策略,对本文做一个比较全面的总结。

Abstract

Chinglish fossilization is a definition that China English learners use Chinese grammar rules wrongly during the procession of learning English, hinder their English study. It will have a bad influence on learner’s English study. Since Selinker proposed the concept of fossilization, fossilization has developed more than 40 years, but nowadays, fossilization has drawn wide attention, many linguists study fossilization and express their different views on fossilization, debate on fossilization each other. Linguists have different opinions on the fossilization of concept, causes and characteristics. Although the differences will promote the development of fossilization through linguist exchange of their opinions, accept other advantages. In the process of English learning in China, students often make mistakes in the same issues, which make English learning stagnant and eventually Chinglish fossilization formed. Based on the observation of the typical errors in college students’ English study and their stagnate ability of English learning, the author tries to discuss the phenomenon of Chinglish in English as a breakthrough point.

This paper will rely on the research done by scholars at home and abroad, put the Chinglish fossilization as the key point, and focus on the following questions: 1). The reason of Chinglish fossilization; 2). Different strategies according to different reasons 3). Last but not least, after the preventive strategies, whether the fossilization will return and put forward to the corresponding strategies to avoid the Chinglish fossilization possibly. I hope my research can help Chinese English learners who trouble by Chinglish fossilization for a long time in their English studies. In this paper, we will prove that the phenomenon of fossilization exists in Chinglish English, and we will try our best to avoid the Chinglish fossilization possibly.

This paper is divided into five chapters as follows: literature review, introduction of fossilization and Chinglish and its characteristics, causes and prevention, results and conclusion. The literature review will summarize on the home and abroad linguists in the decades. In the next chapter, I will give a comprehensive introduction to the phenomenon of fossilization in Chinglish, try my best to analyze the Chinglish fossilization phenomenon from the main aspects, discuss the reasons, put forward preventive strategies, and make a comprehensive summary of this article.
