从目的论角度看《史蒂夫·乔布斯传》的翻译_英语论文
On Translation of Steve Jobs From the Perspective of Skopos Theory

Abstract
Steve Jobs is the authorized biography of Steve Jobs, a great American entrepreneur and inventor. The author of the book, Walter Isaacson, is a famous American biography writer. In 2011, the simplified Chinese version of Steve Jobs was launched simultaneously with the English edition, which soon evoked heated discussions on its translation quality. Taking the English edition of Steve Jobs and Guan Yanqi’s Chinese translation as a case study, this thesis attempts to make an analysis on the Chinese translation of Steve Jobs from the perspective of Hans Vermeer’s Skopos Theory. By offering specific examples, the author will make a comparison between the source text and the translated text in terms of their choice of words, rhetorical effects, and linguistic styles, and will make a judgment on whether the translated text has achieved its desired purpose based on the three rules of Skopos Theory— skopos rule, coherence rule and fidelity rule, to offer an objective and faithful evaluation of this translated version.
