Influences of Chinese Culture Deficiency on The Intercultural Communicative Competence of Chinese College Students

摘要

在跨文化交际中，大学生常常因为对中国传统文化的不了解导致无法准确得向外国人介绍本国优秀的文化，这一现象就是“中国文化失语症”。本文采用定性、定量相结合的研究方法，以问卷、测试加以访谈的形式，主要研究了两个问题。第一个就是当代大学生的跨文化能力水平；第二个就是中国文化缺失对大学生跨文化能力的影响。研究结果表明，大学生对外国文化了解程度以及交流技能方面都很薄弱，而大学生和外国人进行有效的跨文化交流的意愿都很强。英语专业和非英语专业的学生在跨文化交流技能上差距很明显。通过SPSS数据分析表明，中国文化缺失和态度、技能、意识都是弱相关，中国文化缺失对大学生的语言能力（流利程度，话题多样性选择）以及心理（意愿）方面有着很大的影响。

Abstract

There exists a phenomenon called “Chinese Culture Aphasia”, which means that people fail to fluently introduce Chinese culture to foreigners with English in cross-cultural communication. This paper adopts the qualitative method and quantitative method by using questionnaires, tests and the interviews to mainly solve two issues. What is the current situation of the Chinese college students’ intercultural communicative competence and the influences of Chinese culture deficiency on the intercultural communicative competence of Chinese college students? According to the research results, the acquisition of foreign culture and communication skills is very low while the willingness to successfully communicate with foreigners is very strong among college students. There exists a large difference between English major students and non-English major students on communication skills. According to the research analysis, the Chinese culture deficiency has a low correlation of attitudes, skills and awareness. Meanwhile, the Chinese culture deficiency has a profound influence on the language competence (fluency degree and diversity options of topics) and phycology of college students.
