A Study on the E-C Translation of Film Titles from the 5 W Model_英语论文
摘要
一个好的电影片名不仅能够和电影本身形成完美呼应,还加深整个作品的完整度和层次感。因此,电影片名的汉译尤其需要得到重视,从而影响电影的推介及票房。电影作为一种大众传播媒介,首先应当关注其传播效果,而英文影片在中国的传播效果则需通过翻译来实现。故本文从传播学视角下研究且分析英文电影片名的汉译,就拉斯韦尔“五W”模式中的谁(Who),说什么(Says What),通过什么渠道(In Which Channel),对谁说(To Whom),产生什么效果(With What Effect)对2018年度在国内上映的一些英文电影片名翻译进行剖析。该研究为译者提供了如何在“5W”模式指导下进行英文电影片名汉译的方向。

Abstract
Not only can a good film titles echo each other with the film but also it can integrate and enrich the work. As a result, more attention should be attached to the translation of film titles, which will affect the promotion and box office of films. And the communication effects of English films should be first recognized as the film is a mass communication medium. Nevertheless, the communication effects of English films in China should be achieved through translation. Therefore, this thesis analyses the translation of English film titles from the perspective of communication analyzing the titles of some English films released in China in 2018 based on Lasswell’s "5W" Model whose contents consist of Who, Says What, In Which Channel, To Whom and With What Effect. The findings provide a direction for translators of what translators can do from the “5W” model.
