摘要

文化负载词是指某种文化中所特有的词语，直接体现了一个民族特有的文化。在中国文学作品中包含许多文化负载词。然而，由于国家间的文化差异，文化负载词的翻译往往是译者所面临的一大挑战。因此，如何找到有效的翻译策略来翻译文化负载词变得愈加重要。

本文将从目的论的视角，分析中国小说《骆驼祥子》中文化负载词的翻译。《骆驼祥子》的作者是老舍，这部作品包含了许多中国文化负载词。该论文中所选取的例子来自施晓菁译本，她的翻译目的是让英语母语者易于理解文章内容和故事情节。通过研究选自《骆驼祥子》中的例子，本文发现直译，直译加解释，意译，替代法是翻译文化负载词的四种主要策略。这四种策略都有助于实现该文本的翻译目的，传达文化负载词中蕴含的意思。
