摘要

字幕翻译作为一种跨文化交际，它在传输影片文化的过程中起着至关重要的作用。对电影字幕翻译进行研究，有助于翻译人员采用适当的翻译策略，从而使目标语观众更好地欣赏电影及了解不同的文化。电影《末代皇帝》作为一部西方人拍摄的中国传记电影，具有很强的特殊性和复杂性。该电影在市面上有多个英译汉字幕版本，各自使用的翻译策略和达到的翻译效果都不尽相同。然而，对此差异进行的研究还很少。本文从目的论的角度对比分析《末代皇帝》这部电影英语字幕的两个汉译版本，总结出两版汉译字幕的优劣之处，以及其中值得借鉴的翻译方法，以期为今后的电影字幕翻译教学及实践提供一定的建议。
