A Functional Equivalence Approach to the C-E Translation of the Novel Renegade Immortal_英语论文

摘要

如今，中国玄幻小说已成国内国外消磨时间的一种主要方式，特别是外国读者，他们对中国玄幻世界的好奇吸引他们不断接触这类型的中国小说。中国玄幻小说的翻译很有难度，其不仅需要译者对中国传统文化有较深入的认识，同时对译文接受者的语言环境有一定程度的了解。在中国玄幻小说里，人物所使用的一招一式，都蕴含了有中国特色的文化内涵，而这也需要译者在翻译中采取不同的翻译策略进行翻译。本文所选取的中国玄幻小说为《仙逆》，其中包含了大量关于世界的哲学问题，本文通过功能对等理论分析该小说的英译本，简要地总结功能对等理论对中国玄幻小说翻译的指导意义。

Abstract

Nowadays, the Chinese fantasy novel has become a major way to kill time at home and abroad, especially for foreign readers, who are constantly exposed to this type of Chinese novels because of the curiosity of Chinese fantasy world. The translation of Chinese fantasy novels is difficult, which not only requires the translator to have a deep understanding of Chinese traditional culture, but also requires the translator to have a certain level of understanding of the target language environment. In the Chinese fantasy novels, every action used by the characters contains the cultural connotation with Chinese characteristics, which requires the translator to adopt different translation strategies in translation. The Chinese fantasy novel selected in this thesis is Renegade Immortal, which contains many philosophical issues about the world. This thesis analyzes the English translation of this novel through the functional equivalence theory, and briefly summarizes the guidance of functional equivalence theory for the translation of Chinese fantasy novels.
