An Analysis of the Translation Strategies of the Culture-loaded Words in Xin Qiji’s Ci from the Perspective of Intertextuality Theory_英语论文

摘要

随着国际交往日益密切，中华文化开始渐渐走出国门，越来越多的人想要了解中华文化。中国古代诗词作为中国文学的巅峰之作，在文化交流中扮演重要角色。宋词是中国古代诗词中的一种重要文学体裁，深深影响着中国人的价值观念。研究宋词翻译能使中国古诗词为更多的世界读者所了解，增强文化自信。本文从互文性理论角度出发，研究辛弃疾词中的文化负载词的翻译，选择辛弃疾具有代表性的若干首词，着重研究了互文性对译者选择翻译策略的影响。此外，本文还根据互文性理论，探讨了翻译是否体现了原文的内涵。辛弃疾的词中大量使用文化负载词，形成具有丰富内涵的文化意象，成为翻译时的一大难点。文化负载词本身具有强烈的互文性，要在翻译时找到与之对应的英文表达实属不易。本文以互文性理论为理论框架和理论指导，通过对辛弃疾词中文化负载词翻译实例分析，旨在总结有效的翻译策略，探究其在翻译实践中产生的效果。

Abstract

With the growth of international exchanges, Chinese culture is gradually going abroad. Ancient Chinese poetry plays an important role in cultural exchange. And Song Ci deeply affects the sense of value of the Chinese people. Studying the translation of Song Ci can make Chinese ancient poetry known to more readers in the world.From the perspective of Intertextuality Theory, this paper studies the translation of the culture-loaded words in Xin Qiji’s Ci. The thesis analyzes the influence of the intertextuality on the translators when they choose the translating strategies. Additionally, this paper probes into the question whether the translations display the connotation of the original texts sufficiently. In Xin Qiji’s poems, culture-loaded words are widely used to construct cultural images with rich connotations. Culture-loaded words assume a strong sense of intertextuality by nature. Therefore, it is a difficult task to find corresponding English expressions in translation. Based on the theory of intertextuality, this paper aims to summarize effective translation strategies and explore their effects in translation practice by analyzing the examples of the translation of culture-loaded words in Xin Qiji’s works.
