Abstract: Downton Abbey has been a widely acclaimed high-profile British drama since its broadcast in 2010. Set in the background of the great age of the early twentieth Century, it reflects the influence and change of a series of events on British society from the experience of the Earl of Grantham family. This paper reviews major events that have pervaded the play - World War I, to analyze its impact on the British business environment and its changes, so as to reveal future economic trends of the United Kingdom.
