An Analysis of Female Images in The Woman Warrior from the Perspective of Eco-feminism_英语论文

摘要

《女勇士》是美国华裔女作家汤亭亭的处女作。这部小说在美国文坛上产生了很大影响，它扭转了当时美国社会对中国社会的认识，颠覆了美国大众对中国女性的偏见。自从小说出版以来就广受欢迎，人们也对这部作品进行了多角度的研究。随着生态女性主义成为文学批评的新趋势，本文试图从生态女性主义的视角对书中女性形象进行解析。通过分析书中女性人物与自然的关系、父权制下女性的悲惨命运、女性对父权制的反抗，以及女性、自然和男性的和谐统一生态女性观，人们能更加深入地了解《女勇士》这部作品所蕴含的生态女性主义思想。此外，通过女性人物形象的分析，唤醒人们的和谐平等意识，揭示了生态女性主义对构建和谐、统一、生态、可持续社会的重要意义。

Abstract

The Woman Warrior is the first novel of Maxine Hong Kingston, a Chinese American writer. It has had a profound influence on American literature for it changed the American society's understanding of Chinese society at that time, and overturned the prejudice of the American public against Chinese women. Since its publication, it has gained popularity. So people begin to study The Woman Warrior from various aspects. With increasing attention given to Eco-feminism in literature criticism, this paper tries to analyze the females’ images from the perspectives of Eco-feminism. Through the analysis of connection between women and Nature, the tragic victims under patriarchal society, the pursuit of harmony among women, Nature and men and the resistance from women, we can deeply understand the Eco-feminist thoughts illustrated in the novel. At last, by analyzing females’ images, it is also a good way to arouse people’s awareness of harmony and equality, thus stressing on the importance of Eco-feminism in the construction of a harmonious, unified, ecological and sustainable society.
