A Research on Subtitle Translation of TED Educational Speeches from the Perspective of Eco-translatology — A Case Study of How Schools Kill Creativity_英语论文
摘要
TED诞生于1984年,创始人是理查德·索·乌曼。自TED诞生以来,它已成为世界各地思想家和实业家分享成功经验、传播思想的平台。自TED有了自己的网站后,它发展进入新的阶段。随着TED在国际范围的关注度越来越高,越来越多的中国学者对它产生浓厚的兴趣,但是目前关于TED的字幕翻译研究并不多。生态翻译学理论由胡庚申教授于2001年提出。生态翻译学的提出为字幕翻译翻译研究提供了全新的视野,使得译者在翻译过程中更加注重翻译生态系统的整体性,注意语言维、文化维和交际维等多维度的有机结合。本文通过选取不同的例子,采取定性研究的研究方法,从生态翻译学三维转换的角度研究了《学校如何扼杀创造性》中的字幕翻译中如何实现三维转换。通过案例分析,本文认为译者应积极适应演讲字幕翻译的翻译生态环境,从语言、文化、交际三维实现适应性转换。只有这样,才能使高质量的演讲字幕翻译能够在海外宣传和文化交流中使用。

Abstract
Since its start in 1986, TED, whose founder is Richard Saul Wurman, has become a platform where thinkers and industrialists from all over the world share the successful experience and spread ideas. Since TED has its own website, it has entered a new stage of development. With the increasing worldwide attention to TED, more and more Chinese scholars are interested in it. However, there are a few studies on subtitle translation of TED at present. The theory of Eco-translatology was published by professor Hu Gengshen in 2001. The publish of Eco-translatology provides a new perspective for subtitle translation studies and makes the translators pay more attention to the integration of translation ecosystem and the organic combination of language dimension, cultural dimension and communicative dimension in the process of translation. By using different examples and adopting qualitative research method, this thesis studies how to achieve three-dimensional transformation in subtitle translation of How Schools Kill Creativity from the perspective of Eco-translatology and three-dimensional transformation in the translation. Through case analysis, this thesis concludes that the translators should actively adapt to the translation ecological environment of the speech subtitle translation, and realize adaptive transformation from three dimensions of language, culture and communication. Only in this way can a high-quality speech subtitle translation be used in overseas propaganda and cultural interactions.
