An Analysis of the Subtitle Translation of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon from the Perspective of Eco-translatology_英语论文

摘要

近年来，我国本土电影蓬勃发展，以电影为文化载体，向世界展示中国文化，增强中国文化的影响力。电影这个文化产业的发展依赖于字幕翻译的水平。中国电影在海外的接受程度与字幕翻译的质量密切相关。然而，与其他国家相比，中国电影没有大量出口的原因是许多高质量的电影英文翻译仍然空白。对于已经翻译的一些作品，英语字幕的翻译也存在问题。翻译不够真实，不符合外语使用，甚至存在误译现象，导致国内电影在其他国家的普及程度较低。本文以生态翻译学为理论框架, 以《卧虎藏龙》为案例，从语言、文化、交际三个维度对其字幕翻译进行了剖析。从中可以得出：正是生态翻译理论在字幕翻译中的注入源源不断的活力并指引着字幕翻译向着前进的方向进化和不断发展，借此让中国电影可以在全球电影行业中占领高地，从而促进中国文化的传播。

Abstract

In recent years, China’s local films have developed vigorously, taking films as cultural carriers, displaying Chinese culture to the world and enhancing the influence of Chinese culture. The development of film industry depends on the level of subtitle translation. Nevertheless, compared to other countries, the reason why Chinese films have not been exported in large quantities is that many high-quality English translations of films are still blank. There are also problems with the translation of English subtitles for some of the works that have been translated. The translation is not authentic enough, not conforms to foreign language usages, and even has the phenomenon of mistranslation, which leads to the low popularity of domestic films in other countries. The subtitle translation of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is analyzed step by step from the perspective of three-dimensional transformation of ecological translation: language, culture and communication, demonstrates the operability and explanatory power of ecological translation theory in the subtitle translation, so as to promote the spread of Chinese culture.
