An Analysis of the Application of Associationism Psychology in Learning Chinese Vocabulary by English-Speaking Learners_英语论文
摘要
联想主义心理学从发现发展到现在已经有2500多年的历史了,在发展过程中,它不再仅仅是独立出来的一门学科,人们往往会通过联想主义心理学去研究其他学科领域。前人也有关于联想主义心理学在英语法语等语言习得过程中的应用,但在汉语习得这一块领域的研究却寥寥无几。这篇论文将探索联想主义心理学在母语为英语的学习者学习汉语词汇过程中的应用,助力我国汉语国际教育事业的发展。本文将重点研究联想四法则在学习过程中的应用。选取老舍的文章《爬山虎的脚》一文中的词汇进行分析与研究。最后研究结果表明结合联想主义心理学,学习者能更容易理解汉语词汇的含义,同时能够学习到词汇所蕴含的中国特色文化。这对推动我国汉语国际教育事业的发展无疑是很有意义的。

Abstract
Associationism psychology has almost 2500 years’ history. During the development, it is no longer just a separate independent discipline. People tend to study other subject areas through associationism psychology. The predecessors also have relevant researches about the application of associationism psychology in the process of acquisition of English and French, but there are few studies in the field of Chinese acquisition. This thesis will explore the application of associationism psychology in the process of learning Chinese vocabulary by English-speaking learners, promoting the development of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL) career. This thesis will focus on four rules of associationism. As for Chinese vocabulary’s selection, The foot of the Boston ivy written by Lao She (老 舍), will be used for analysis. Finally, the study result shows that through the associationism psychology, learners can more easily understand the meaning of Chinese vocabulary, and at the same time learn some Chinese culture while learning vocabulary. This is undoubtedly very meaningful for promoting Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL) career.
