Analysis of the Realization of Interpersonal Function Model -- A Case Study of Hillary Clinton's Graduation Speech in Yale University in 2018_英语论文
摘要
演讲是指在公众场合,以语言为主要手段,针对某个具体事件发表自己的见解和主张,进行宣传鼓动的一种交际活动。毕业典礼演讲寄托了演讲者对毕业生的殷切期望和美好祝愿。本文通过希拉里2018耶鲁大学毕业演讲语篇的分析中,理解在语篇中实现人际意义的几种话语手段,对毕业演讲的人际功能模式的实现的分析有一定的指导意义。本文旨在揭示毕业演讲中演讲者所赋予的人际意义,探讨演讲者如何通过不同的话语方式达到演讲目的,并体会演讲的深层内涵。

Abstract
Speech refers to a kind of communicative activity which publicity use as a main means to express their own opinions on a specific event and to carry out propaganda and agitation. Unlike other types of speeches, graduation speeches have placed the speakers' earnest expectations and good wishes for graduates. Through the analysis of Hillary Clinton's graduation speech in Yale University in 2018, this thesis tries to understand how several discourse means realize interpersonal meaning in the discourse, which has certain guiding significance for the analysis of the realization of interpersonal function model of graduation speech. This thesis cities Halliday's interpersonal functional grammar theory to analyze speech discourse from the perspectives of mood, personal pronouns, tense and modality. The purpose of this thesis is to reveal the interpersonal significance given by the speaker in the graduation speech, to explore how the speaker achieves the purpose of the speech through different ways of discourse, in order to help readers understand the speech more clearly, and to deeply understand the deep connotation of the speech.
