An Analysis of the Insect Disaster Movie from the Perspective of Ecocriticism—A Case Study of “Mimic”_英语论文

摘要

随着人类社会的不断进步和发展，自然生态遭到日益破坏。为此，文学批评中出现了一种保护自然，批判人类行为的模式——生态批评。”生态批评”作为一种文学和文化批评方法，于20世纪90年代中期在美国形成，之后又在世界许多国家出现。有学者从教育、文化、生态批评的方面研究电影，还有人从生态批评角度研究了灾难电影、动物电影，但是少有人研究昆虫灾难电影，从生态批评的角度来写就更少了。基于上述研究状况，本文以生态批评理论为基础，对《变种DNA1》进行了的生态分析，从科技乐观主义、人类中心主义、生态整体的层面，对昆虫灾难电影进行研究。本研究有助于阐明昆虫灾害电影在生态层面唤醒人类生态意识的作用，同时也提高读者或观众的电影鉴赏能力。

Abstract

With the continuous progress and development of human society, natural ecology has been increasingly destroyed. To this end, there has been a pattern in literary criticism that protects nature and criticizes human behaviors— Ecocriticism. As a literary and cultural criticism approach, Ecocriticism was established in the United States in the mid-1990s, and then appeared in many countries around the world. Some scholars study movies from the aspects of education, culture, and ecocriticism. Others study disaster movies and animal movies from the perspective of Ecocriticism. However, few people study insect disaster movies, and there are even fewer from the perspective of Ecocriticism. Based on the theory of Ecocriticism, the paper conducts a discourse analysis of the disaster film, “Mimic”, from the aspects of scientism and technology optimism, anthropocentricism and ecological holism. The analysis aims to improve the film appreciation ability of readers or audience and to illustrate the role of insect disaster film in awakening human’s ecological awareness.
