摘要

本论文旨在从目的论角度分析字幕翻译。纵观前人研究，学者们的研究主要集中于文学作品和电影的翻译。而随着信息时代传播技术的提高与跨文化交流的推进，纪录片中字幕翻译的重要性逐步被学者们挖掘。因此，本论文选取目的论作为指导理论，兼之以定性为研究方法，对BBC纪录片《文明》字幕翻译所选取的翻译策略进行分析。具体而言就是从选词和句子结构等语言特征方面进行分析，从而展示目的原则、连贯原则和忠实原则是如何影响译者使用意译、归化和直译。

本论文的两个启示：一方面，目的论可以为今后的纪录片字幕翻译提供系统的理论指导，另一方面，本文所分析的翻译策略也将有助于字幕翻译的完善，同时为推动跨文化交际提供了一定的参考价值。
