摘要

谚语是一个民族在生产生活中总结的智慧结晶，内容丰富多彩，表达凝练精巧。谚语是世人从古到今浓缩的文字精华，这里面浓缩着形形色色的举止行为、风俗人情、自然景观以及动植物。包含动物意象的谚语是其中非常重要的部分。本文用目的论作为理论框架，讨论含有动物意象的英语谚语中译的实践。通过分析含有动物意象的英语谚语中译后，动物意象是否出现了转变，以此来分析中方和西方在通过动物来表达生活哲学，人生道理时所具有的差异和不同特点，比较同一类动物在两种不一样的语言体系中，人们对它们的感情喜恶和客观评价是否相同，从而更有效地知晓中西方人们在动物形象使用上的异同。
